The Octopus Sterndrive System, with a 9-foot cable, is a remote autopilot drive for Mercruiser sterndrives from 1994 and North American Volvo sterndrives from 1997. The remote drive unit connects to the boat steering by cable and connection kit, and mounts out of sight away from engine heat and vibration. It allows manual override without disengaging the autopilot and is compatible with major autopilot brand electronics.

The heart of this pilot drive system is the remote drive. The drive unit is connected to the boat steering by a cable and connection kit.
