El Nino impact on Great Lakes Ice fishing

The weather forecasters for several months now have been talking about a large El Nino affect keeping temperatures warmer than normal for the winter months.  Doesn't look like there will be much of an Ice fishing season on Lake Erie.

Good news is that fishermen can keep their boats in the water and experience some really good nearshore fishing for walleyes through the winter months as long as the weather cooperates.

Here is Tom Adkins with one such big winter walleye.  He says "Sorry no ice.  But the fishing is good right now.  The big girls have come bacak fromt he east.  I'm loving El Nino."
