Tru-Trip 40-50 Deep Divers

The Tru-Trip is a floatation device, that when trolled (forward movement) will carry bait to a specific depth per amount of line let out. The trip mechanism will disengage, when a fish strikes, allowing the floatation device to stop diving and return to the surface with less resistance. The Tru-Trip deep diver  has a much simple release system than other jet divers and is rapidly becoming a favorite among Lake Erie Charter Captains.

Currently the Tru-Trip diver is available in Black and Smoke but later this summer other colors will be introduced so stay tuned .......   Tru-Trip divers are built in the U.S.A. by Americans.

Birth of the Tru-Trip Releasing Diver

Captain Keith Unkefer of Pooh Bear Charters aka Pooh Bear used a release system to attach to jet divers in the Fall of 2008. When Dan purchased some of the releases and started using them that fall, he liked the idea because they were very effective and worked great. Through the winter months he gave it a great amount of thought on how to reduce parts and make a much simpler product by Spring of 2009 (April). Dan came up with a new and much simpler release system. He took his idea to a designer, had a prototype built and showed it to a few people, test ran it on Lake Erie, underwent a few changes until it was perfected. Then he started asking people if he would produce this product, would they be interested in purchasing them. The response was very favorable. Through the Summer of 2009 and through winter of 2010 Dan fished and tested the prototype tru-trip deep diver with Pooh Bear and found tru-trip diver to be favorable to what we were looking for. Through that period many people requested that Dan produce the tru-trip deep diver product.
