Amish Outfitters Jet Diver Trippers.

For serious walleye fisherman on Lake Erie, there are two main things. One, if you want to catch bunches of walleyes you have to put out bunches of baits. And two, you better learn to run dipseys and jet divers to get those bunches of baits out.

Dipseys are a dream. Fish hit, dipsey trips, reel in fish. No drag. You and fish. Easy.

Jet divers. Fish hit, trip board release, fish drags, jet drags also. Two pound fish feels like ten pounder. Fish gets off, you reel in jet, still feels like a ten pounder.

Why not have a jet that releases like a dipsey? Good question. Good answer. We got one!!

You supply the jet diver, we supply the pieces parts to make your jet release and plane up to the surface. No drag. Easy.

Jet Trippers are a modified Clipper Release and a coated cable to change any size jet into a diver that is easy to retrieve.

The jet divers are not included in this package.

Remove the snap on the top of the jet diver. Use a 3/16th”drill bit to enlarge the hole on top. Use a 1/8th” drill bit to put a hole on the bottom of the vertical tail above the horizontal tail of the jet. This hole should be as far back as possible.

Put the release over the top of the tail and line up the holes. It doesn’t matter which way the release sits on the tail. Push the stainless steel bolt through the round hole in the release and push the nylock nut into the hex hole of the other side of the release, nylon side out. Tighten bolt and nut with a Phillips screwdriver.

Slide the enclosed crimp sleeve over the uncrimped end of the enclosed cable. Slide the cable into the 1/8th” hole and into the crimp sleeve. Crimp the sleeve.

You can adjust the jaws of the release by turning the Phillips screw near the front of the release in or out as needed. Do not set the release too tight or it will not release. You must find your sweet spot depending on the size of the jet, trolling speed, and wave action.

For 50 jets, we installed a small eye screw into the bottom of the jet where the front of the vertical tail meets the round body. Be careful not to screw into the round body.
