Lake Erie Walleye, LLC owns and operates the www.walleye.com  fishing-related web site and the  www.walleyetacklestore.com  online tackle shop.  The principal partner of Lake Erie Walleye, LLC has had a love and fascination with Lake Erie and walleye fishing for over 30 years.  Having grown up on the shores of Lake Erie in Central Ohio he’s maintained a life-long appreciation for the world class walleye, smallmouth bass and yellow perch fishery that Lake Erie is known for. 

Origins of www.walleye.com and www.walleyetacklestore.com

In 1995 Lake Erie Walleye, LLC began publication of a subscription based print magazine, Lake Erie Walleye Magazine.  A few years later with advances in technology and with the birth of the Internet the print magazine was transformed to an online publication via the www.walleye.com  fishing information web site.  With over 4,000 daily visitors www.walleye.com has become one of the busiest fishing web sites in the Midwest offering in-depth fishing reports, fishing articles, charter fishing information, boat classified sales and very rich content to assist anyone wanting to learn about and experience the world-class Lake Erie fishery.

The www.walleyetacklestore.com online tackle store was spawned in large part by feedback and requests from loyal www.walleye.com visitors for a venue to purchase quality fishing related products specific to Lake Erie Fisherman. Over the years the online tackle store has grown and now offers thousands of fishing and outdoors products to not only Lake Erie Fisherman but to fisherman all across the country. 

We have partnered with dozens of manufacturers, wholesalers and distributers of quality fishing tackle and outdoors products in this venture and follow a drop-ship model where our partners fill and ship all orders coming from our customers.   This model has proven successful as we’ve been able to maintain a very low overhead of operations which in turn allows us to keep prices low while offering thousands of products.  We offer products for a wide range of fishing, from downriggers and rod holders for offshore trolling to rods and reels and just about anything related to fishing and outdoors.   We continue to add products to our site in order to bring our customers the best and latest in tackle and gear.

Our focus is personal customer service and we strive to give our clients a very personable and enjoyable shopping experience.  There are only two of us (Husband and Wife) in our operation and we very much enjoy interacting and getting to know our customers and  as a result we have a rapidly growing number of satisfied repeat customers.  Our tackle store web site is not fancy and does not have all the bells and whistles of some but we follow the KISS principle and try to keep our operational costs down so we can pass savings along to you.

We follow sound business principles and we respect all of our partners by following Minimum Retail Pricing (MRP) and Minimum Advertising Pricing (MAP) to the letter.  We realize that many of our online retail competitors do not follow these guidelines and as a result they may offer lower prices on some products.  Though we lose some business by not looking for loop holes and ways to get around these MRP and MAP we are firm in our belief that respect for our business partners wishes and excellent personable customer service is JOB ONE.
